The Village Manager is an appointed position and serves at the pleasure of the Village Council. The Manager oversees all the departments of the Village including the clerk’s office, the treasurer’s office, the department of public works, police services, contracts, employees, purchases, budgeting and finances, and acts as the executive director of the Downtown Development Authority. The position was established as an appointed position in 2007. David came to the Village as its Manager on November 1, 2017, with an extensive background in Village and Township operations at the Village of Ortonville and Salem Township
Star Mead, Village Clerk

The Village Clerk is an appointed position and serves as the secretary to the Village Council. The Clerk maintains all the records of the Village including, contracts, ordinances, resolutions, all of the various forms and applications of the Village, disburses payments on the accounts of the Village, and keeps all other correspondence of the council. The position was established as an appointed position in 2000 and Star has held that position since.
The Clerk maintains the records of the building department as well and assists with payments to the water and sewer systems and handles the payroll for village employees. The Clerk also maintains the minutes of each regular and special council meeting. The Clerk also serves the Downtown Development Authority as its secretary and maintains all of its records.
Star is normally in the office from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Village Treasurer is an appointed position and serves as the chief bookkeeper/accountant to the Village Council. The Treasurer maintains all the banking accounts, ledgers, and accounts receivable records of the Village including, taxes, state receipts, federal receipts, and endorses payments on the accounts of the Village, and keeps all other correspondence related to the accounts of the council. The position was established as an appointed position in 2000 and Trudi was appointed in June of 2018.
The Treasurer maintains the records of the water and sewer systems and also issues any special assessments to account for debt service. The Treasurer issues the bills for the water and sewer system and collects the property taxes each year. Finally, the Treasurer lends assistance in dispensing building/zoning permit applications along with business license applications and assists the Clerk in maintaining other records of the Village.
Trudi is usually in the office from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon & 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursdays. Other days are planned where special circumstances, such as the final day of property tax collections, may require.
